Satsohi Tsukamoto specializes in sociology of education, philosophy of education, qualitative research methods, cultural studies, and the teaching of English as a second language.


His current research interests include qualitative research,  cross-cultural communication, Japanese images from abroad, English education, and field studies in education.


He published “Teaching across Cultures: Identity, Race, and Cultures in the Teaching of English as a Second Language,” (VDM Verlag D. Muller Aktiengesellschaft & Co.) in 2008.
